Questions, answered.

Is CardWise free? Do you take affiliate kickbacks?
CardWise is 100% free. There are no affiliate links and no card-issuer relationships. Recommendations are based purely on a transparent scoring engine that weighs your goal, spending, fee tolerance, and credit profile.
How does the scoring engine work?
Each card earns up to 100 points: 40 for goal alignment, 25 for category overlap with your spending, 15 for annual fee fit, 15 for credit eligibility, and 5 for spend-to-fee value. Cards you can't qualify for are penalized so they don't dominate your top picks.
Are the rates and fees current?
CardWise reflects publicly available rates and terms but credit card details change often. Always confirm the current annual fee, interest rate, welcome bonus, and eligibility on the issuer's site before applying.
Do you store my answers or credit info?
No. CardWise runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, no account is required, and your answers vanish when you close the tab.
Which cards are included?
All major Canadian issuers: RBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC, National Bank, American Express Canada, Tangerine, Simplii, Neo, Brim, PC Financial, Rogers, Canadian Tire, Home Trust, Desjardins, Meridian, Vancity, and Servus — across cashback, travel, low-interest, no-fee, secured, and student categories.
Is this financial advice?
No. CardWise is an educational tool that helps you compare cards. For personalized financial advice, consult a licensed advisor. Always read a card's full terms and conditions before applying.
